Google Authenticator instructions (for CPS account login)
This guide will show you how to use Google Authenticator with a QR code you obtained without signing in to an account.
1. Install Google Authenticator:
- Download and install the Google Authenticator app on your smartphone:
2. Scan the QR Code:
(Android screen:The Google Authenticator app is open. A "+" button is located at the bottom right corner.)
(iPhone users will see a slightly different screen, but the "+" button will be prominent.)
3. Using the Generated Codes:
Once the account is added, Google Authenticator will generate a unique 6-digit code every 30 seconds. This code is used for two-factor authentication when signing in to the associated account.
When prompted for a verification code during login on the account's website or app, enter the current 6-digit code displayed in Google Authenticator.
