MacBook login troubleshooting: "Verify password" screen (Jamf Connect)
Jamf Connect is an add-on product to Jamf Pro, Distinctive School's management system for all of our Apple devices.
One of Jamf Connect's primary purposes is to unify your DS Google credentials with your local Mac account credentials; creating the experience of a single synced password.
Despite this, at some point you may run into the following issue:
Problem: My Mac is asking me to "Verify password" after the Google login screen.

This means your Google password has changed recently (either by you, or by an admin), and it no longer matches your local Mac account password.
Solution: Enter your previous Google password (the last-known pw before you changed it). This should allow login access to your Mac account desktop.
If you still are not able to log in here, or your local account is "locked", please reach out to IT to assist further.
-
Important! Finalize sync: Once you reach your desktop, a notification will let you know your passwords do not match, and the following Jamf Connect window will pop up.
- Log in with your full DS email address and most current Google password here.

- On the next window, enter your previous Google password (the same one used on the verification screen) and click Sync.

- You are set! Your new Google password now matches your local Mac password.
